MC4 connectors are designed for use in cable connections within solar PV systems, including monocrystalline or polycrystalline solar panels. These connectors are essential in photovoltaic installations for homes, industry, street lighting, solar power parks, etc. Incorrect connection and contacts can lead to malfunctions and cause problems in the photovoltaic energy system.

The MC4 plug, being a male-male connector, has a safety system with clips that prevents accidental separation (disconnection). The MC4 connector also has two protective seals. One of them is fixed with a plastic nut on the power cable to which the plug is to be mounted, and the other is located at the junction of the MC4 F/M connectors, preventing water from entering the crimped wire and electrical connector pin connection space.

The MC4 connector can be mounted on braided cable with a diameter between 4-6mm, specially designed for photovoltaic systems. They are used in particular for the connection between solar panels or photovoltaic modules.
